DAY 1: ARRIVAL – HANOI

On arrival at Noi Bai Airport, welcome to Vietnam by our guide and transferred to hotel for check in. Ha Noi, Vietnam's capital, is a stylish and gracious city that retains an unique old world charm and some Asia ‘s most striking colonial architecture. The many lakes and parks make for relaxing atmosphere.

DAY 2: HANOI – SAPA   (B/L/-)

Morning, city tour to visit Hochiminh Complex, this complex  comprises the Mausoleum of the nation’s founder Hochiminh (closed on Monday, Friday and the whole months of October-November), the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city. We follow this with a trip to the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam built in 1070. Afternoon, we visit the Ethnological Museum, the most interesting museum in Hanoi. We will view Tran Quoc Pagoda, Vietnam's oldest pagoda, built in the 6th century and located on Cayang Island in the middle of the lake.  We visit these sights before continuing to the peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem with Ngoc Son Temple, take 1-hour Cyclo trip around with 36 streets of Ha Noi old quarter and enjoy the performance of the famous Vietnamese traditional art of water puppetry at Thang Long theatre.

Evening, transfer to Hanoi station for train to Laocai. (departs at 8:20pm). Overnight on train.

DAY 3: SAPA – BACHA  (Sunday) – SAPA    (B/L/-)

Arrrival Laocai at around 4:30am, transfer to local restaurant for breakfast.
Then, leaving Laocai we set off on our scenic drive through the border town of Lao Cai to the colorful Sunday Market at Bac Ha. This market also attracts a wide variety of ethnic minority groups including the Variegated Hmong, Dao, Phu La, La Chi and Tay. They still retain their age old cultural traditions and are recognizably distinct from each other by their dress. The experience of this congregation is colorful and unique. Lunch at local restaurant. After the market we enjoy a walk around the area, visiting the Hmong King’s former residence and Ban Pho where the villagers make the potent local maize alcohol. Transfer to Sapa and free at leisure for sightseeing.

DAY 4: SAPA – HANOI (B/L/-)

Morning, free at leisure, relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape from your balcony and visit the bustling Sa Pa Market where the Red Dao, Black Hmong, Tay and Xa Pho ethnic minorities converge from the nearby mountainsides and valleys to trade their goods and buy provisions. We then climb up Sapa hill, only a short walk from your hotel with it’s mystic rock formations, are rare orchids and flowers. Afternoon, we continue to visit Tavan minority village, Taphin minority village a 4-km drive on the rim of deep valley to visit Dzay and Dzao people & experience the daily life of minority people to understand their culture and customs before transfer back Laocai for train to Hanoi (departs 8:30am).

DAY 5: HANOI – NINH BINH (B/L/-)

Early morning, arrival Hanoi at 4:30am, breakfast at local restaurant and then,  transfer to Ninh Binh province - is known to travelers as Vietnam’s “Inland Halong Bay”. You will be offered a leisurely sampan cruise on a creek across three vast stretches of rice field. Upon arrival, visit Temples of the Dinh King and Le King built on the site of the Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel. Sampan trip along the stream to Tam Coc caves (Three limestone caves) all adorned with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites. Later on, you visit Bich Dong Pagoda – a very nice temple located in the harmony surrounding landscape.

DAY 6: HANOI – HOA BINH – MAI CHAU (B/L/-)

We depart Hanoi and head west towards Hoa Binh City where we stop for refreshments. Leaving Hoa Binh we climb towards the Mai Chau valley, about another two hours away, stopping on the way to take in the spectacular scenery. Following lunch in Mai Chau town we drive to the White Thai village of Poomcong. Afternoon we walk to the surrounding village. Our hosts for this evening will be the White Thai minority people. In sampling these peoples hospitality, we find out a little more of their lives and cultures with a cultural exchange following the evening meal.

DAY 7: MAI CHAU VILLAGE – LAC AND VAN VILLAGE – HANOI (B/L/-)

Following breakfast we embark on a lovely walk to Lac village and Van village. As we walk we will encounter the local villagers going about their daily business tilling the fields, logging or herding the buffalo. We enjoy lunch in Maichau before we drive back to Hanoi. Visit Muong village in Hoabinh.After that, drive back Hanoi & free at leisure.

DAY 8: HANOI – HALONG (B/L/D)

08:00     Our guide and driver pick you up from hotel, transfer to Halongvia vehicle  (160km driving one way - 3.5hrs drive). This will be your first opportunity to see some of the rural areas of Vietnam. The drive goes through the Red River delta, so we'll have plenty of chance for taking photo of Vietnamese farmers tilling the vast green paddy field. At half way, we will have a visit to a handicraft workshop with fine clothes and embroidered paintings.

12h45:     Start cruising

13h00:     Have lunch board

13h30:     A fantastic cruise in Ha Long bay, visit Dinh Huong island, Ga Choi island, Dog island, Sail island, visit Sung Sot cave and a swim at Titov beach.
17h30:     Relax and enjoy sunset

19h30:     Enjoy dinner on board.

21h00:     Fishing or relax and spending a night on board.

DAY 9: HA LONG – HANOI (B/L/-)

Early risers can enjoy a morning view of Bay's landscapes. Sitting on the upper desk we can enjoy the breath - taking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear water of the Bay. We can hear the birds singing, cicadas chirping ashore and the gentle lapping of the waves against our boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and  gentle breeze.

7:00     Have breakfast

7:30     A morning cruise to visit Man's head island. Tortoise island. Visit to Bai Tu Long bay.

10:00     Arrange luggage and check out then have lunch on boat. Return to Hanoi capital.

Free at leisure for shopping in the old quartern before transfer to airport for flight departure.
